Notes on the trade

Translation tools, the work they are for, and where the trade is going, including the tools we compete with. When we write about them, we say who we are, date our facts and give our sources.

How we write about other tools

This blog will talk about Trados, memoQ and the other tools translators use, and about where the work is going. We make a tool that competes with some of them, so these are the rules we write by.

What we write about

  • The toolsThe tools translators use, paid, free and AI: what they do, how they handle real files, and what they cost over a year, dated and sourced.
  • The tradeRates and post-editing, who owns a translation memory, client files and the cloud, and what AI changes in the work itself.
  • LexoraHow we handle hard files, why the app works the way it does, and what we got wrong.
