Export and delivery

Export when you need one file. Use the Delivery desk when you hand over a whole job, with a checklist of what is ready and exactly the files the recipient needs.

Export a file

Choose Export in the editor’s toolbar. Pick This document or All documents (one ZIP file), then the format:

FormatFor
Translated documentsThe client. Each file in its original format with its formatting; a Trados or memoQ job as its return package.
Word documentA plain Word copy of the translation.
PDFReading or printing, as the preview shows it.
Bilingual XLIFFAny other CAT tool.
Review table (Excel, Word or CSV)A reviewer who doesn’t use a CAT tool.
Translation memory, GlossaryYour confirmed translations as TMX and the terms the documents use as TBX.

Untranslated segments keep the source text in translated documents. A PDF you translated comes back as an editable Word document.

When an export stops

Lexora refuses to write a file it can’t return safely, rather than break your client’s formatting. The notice names the problem, such as a missing tag, and Go to the segment opens it.

Review tables

  1. ExportChoose Review table in Excel or in Word and send it to the reviewer.
  2. The reviewer correctsThey change the Translation column and send the file back. The id and check columns must stay.
  3. Bring it inIn the export window, choose Bring in the reviewer’s changes. You see each change before it goes in.

To let a reviewer comment in the browser instead, see Review in the browser.

The Delivery desk

Open Delivery desk in the sidebar. The Readiness checklist shows whether all text is translated and confirmed, whether checks are clear and whether review is done.

Under Who is it for?, pick who receives it:

  • Client: the translated files only, in their original formats.
  • Agency: translations, bilingual XLIFF, the memory as TMX and the glossary as TBX.
  • Reviewer: review tables, the glossary, the quality report and the brief.
  • Everything: every part, for your own archive.

Choose Create delivery package. It is saved on your computer; nothing is sent to anyone. From shared memories and glossaries, the package takes only this project’s translations and the terms it uses.

Delivering with open issues

If checks are still open, Lexora asks you to fix them first, or to save the package without them. It is then saved as a working copy: file names end in “-working-copy”, so no one takes them for the final delivery.
