Built around what translators complain about

We read years of forum threads about desktop translation tools. These are the problems we set out to remove.

  • It freezes every time I open a big file.

Only the rows on screen are drawn, and checks run in the background. Big documents feel as light as small ones.

20,000 segments · under 50 ms per keystroke
  • The export broke my client’s formatting.

Lexora puts your text back into the original file. A file it can’t return safely is refused with a message that says why, never corrupted.

About 900 real files round-tripped in testing
  • QA gives me 300 warnings and I have to hunt each one down.

Every issue opens with its segment in place. Fix it, confirm, and move to the next one without leaving the list.

    Ctrl+Enter confirms and moves on
  • I don’t want my clients’ files in someone else’s cloud.

Projects, memories and glossaries live on your computer. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you run AI on a project where you turned it on.

    Saved locally · works offline
  • The interface looks like it’s from 2005.

A calm layout in light or dark, keyboard shortcuts for everything, and settings that stay put after a restart.

8 interface languages · every shortcut can be changed

From the agency’s email to the return package

No setup wizard. Drop in the files you were sent and start translating.

  1. 1 · Open

    Drop in the package

Drag a Trados or memoQ package, or plain Word, Excel and PowerPoint files, into a new project. Lexora reads the languages, picks the files to translate and suggests the client’s memory.

    .sdlppx · .mqxlz · .docx · .xlsx · .pptx
  2. 2 · Translate

    Your memory finishes your sentences

Matches, fragments and glossary terms appear beside the sentence you are on. Press Tab to take the next word from your memory as you type.

Each client gets a separate memory, and every match shows which memory it came from.

In Word, Excel and PowerPoint files you just type. Lexora puts the bold, italics and links back where they belong when you export, and the page preview shows the result.

  3. 3 · Check

    Fix issues where they are

Numbers, tags, terms, spacing and length are checked as you go. Open an issue and the segment is right there to fix.

Filter to fuzzy matches, AI drafts or unconfirmed segments, then confirm or lock them in one step. Find and replace works by whole word, case or regular expression, and never touches a tag.

Send back what the agency expects

Bring your past work with you

Years of memories and glossaries come with you in a few clicks. When an import finishes, Lexora tells you exactly what came in and what was skipped.

Trados memories .sdltm
Imported in the background, with progress and a cancel button. Tags come in as real tags, so matches work right away.
Glossaries .tbx
TBX 2 and 3, with notes and forbidden terms kept. Export back to TBX whenever you like.
A memory for each client
Keep every client’s translations apart. Add other memories as read-only reference, with a match penalty if you want one.
Old translations
Have the source and the translation but no memory? Align the two files into a new memory.
Word files with tracked changes
Changes are accepted on import, so you translate the final text and deliver a clean file.
Your keyboard shortcuts
Change any shortcut to the keys your hands already know from your old tool.

AI, only when you want it

Turn AI on for the projects where your client allows it. Your memory fills what it can first, for free, and you see how many credits the rest will use before anything runs.

  • Off until you turn it on

AI is allowed per project. Until then, nothing leaves your computer.

  • Every suggestion shows its reason

Meaning errors, omissions and term slips come with a before and after. You decide what goes in.

  • Formatting stays intact

A draft that would lose a formatting tag is skipped, never inserted.

  • One credit per word

Your balance is always in view, so a big job holds no surprises.

Work on one project together

For agencies and in-house teams. Share a project, give each document a translator and a reviewer, and see who is working where, live.

  • Who is where, live

Everyone has their own picture. See who is online and on which segment, with dots while they type.

  • From translation to done

Each document has a translator, a reviewer, a due date and a stage. A board shows every document, with overdue ones marked.

  • Nothing is overwritten

If two people change the same segment, the second chooses which version to keep. Notes and @mentions sit right beside the text.

  • Only what you share

A project goes to the team only when you share it. Your other projects and memories stay on your computer.

Questions

Something missing? Write to us and a person will answer.

Can I work on Trados and memoQ jobs?

Yes. Open a Trados .sdlppx package or a memoQ .mqxlz package, or single .sdlxliff and .mqxliff files. When you finish, export the return package and send it to your agency as usual.

Can Lexora Studio replace Trados or memoQ?

For most freelance jobs, yes. It opens Trados and memoQ packages and bilingual files, imports your Trados memories (.sdltm), TMX files and TBX glossaries, and exports the return package your agency expects. It doesn’t connect to Trados GroupShare or memoQ server projects, and it runs on Windows only.

Can I bring my existing memories and glossaries?

Yes. Import Trados memories (.sdltm) and TMX files, and glossaries as TBX or CSV. You can also align old source and target files into a new memory.

Do my files stay on my computer?

Yes. Projects, memories and glossaries are saved on your computer. Only the segments you send for AI review or AI translation go to the Lexora AI service, and only in projects where you turned AI on. If you share a project with your team, it is stored on the Lexora server so your team can work on it. The privacy policy has the details.

Do I need an account?

Yes, a free one. When Lexora Studio opens, sign in with Google or with a 6-digit code sent to your e-mail; there is no password. Your 14-day trial starts at your first sign-in, with every feature and 15,000 AI credits, once per person and computer. One account works on 2 computers.

How do I buy, or cancel?

Choose Pro or Team above. Payment is handled by Whop. Buy with the e-mail you sign in with in the app, and it unlocks by itself (or press “I’ve paid, check again”). Bought with another e-mail? Paste the licence key from your Whop purchase in the app. Change or cancel any time on Whop.

Does it work offline?

Translating, memory, terms, checks and export all work without internet. The app checks your plan when you are online and keeps working offline for up to 7 days at a time. AI and Teams need a connection.

What are AI credits?

One credit covers one word of the source text sent to AI review or AI translation, and each segment uses at least one. Lexora shows how many credits a job will use before it runs. Each person on a plan has their own credits, and unused credits don’t carry over to the next month.

Can I pay for a year at once?

Yes. Pro and Team cost about 18% less when you pay yearly: €384 instead of €468 for Pro, and €480 instead of €588 per person for Team. Your AI credits still renew every month.

We’re an agency. How does the Team plan work?

One Team subscription covers 3 people: the owner and two teammates. Each gets the full studio and 700,000 AI credits a month. The owner creates the team in the app and invites people with a code; projects are shared on purpose, documents are assigned to a translator and a reviewer, and everyone sees who is working where. Need more people? Add another Team subscription.

Windows showed a blue warning when I opened the installer

It may happen: the installer isn’t code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen may not recognise it. If you see “Windows protected your PC”, choose More info, then Run anyway. Download Lexora Studio only from this site.

What about Word files with tracked changes?

Lexora accepts all tracked changes when you import the file, tells you it did, and exports a clean file without revisions.

Which systems and languages does it support?

Lexora Studio runs on Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit). The interface is in English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil) and Ukrainian, chosen in Settings or taken from Windows. You can translate between any languages. Updates download in the background and install when you restart.

The download starts at once. All versions and release notes

  1. Install. Open the file. It installs for your Windows user only, needs no administrator rights, and lets you choose the folder.
  2. Sign in. Lexora Studio opens on its sign-in screen: continue with Google, or get a 6-digit code by e-mail. Your 14-day trial starts then, with every feature and 15,000 AI credits.
  3. Buy when you’re ready. Choose Pro or Team in the app or under Pricing. Your projects stay as they are.
If Windows shows a blue window

Windows may stop the installer with a blue “Windows protected your PC” window, because the installer isn’t code-signed yet. It may not appear at all. If it does, it takes two clicks:

1Choose “More info”
2Choose “Run anyway”

Updates install by themselves, each signed by Lexora, and uninstalling keeps your projects. Only run an installer you downloaded from this site.
