AI translation and review

AI is off until you turn it on for a project. Your memory fills what it can first, for free, and Lexora shows how many credits the rest will use before anything runs.

Turn AI on for a project

Tick Use Lexora AI in this project when you create the project, or choose Allow AI for this project the first time you use AI in it. Until then, nothing from the project is sent anywhere.

Sentences you translate or check with AI are sent to the Lexora AI service. If the content is confidential, check your client agreement first. The privacy policy has the details.

AI credits

One credit covers one word of the source text, and each segment uses at least one. DeepL uses 2 credits per character, because DeepL charges by the character. Your balance is in Settings → Account; the trial has 15,000 credits, Pro 400,000 a month, Team 700,000 a month per person.

Pre-translate

  1. Open itChoose Pre-translate in the editor’s toolbar, for This document or the Whole project.
  2. Memory firstPick the lowest match to insert, from exact matches only down to 50%. Memory matches are free.
  3. AI for the restTick AI translation for the rest and choose Lexora AI or DeepL. The button says how many segments will be filled.

Pre-translation fills only empty segments, as drafts for you to check. Segments that already have text are never changed. A draft that would lose a formatting tag is skipped.

A suggestion for one segment

Press Ctrl+Shift+A, or choose Suggest translation in the panel beside the segment. With a fuzzy match, Lexora can keep the matching words and translate only the rest.

The DeepL part of the panel translates the sentence or looks up a word: click a word, or Shift+click another for the words between.

AI review

On the Quality assurance page, AI review reads your translation for meaning errors, omissions, terms and tone that automatic checks miss. Choose this document or the whole project; segments already reviewed since their last change are skipped. Its findings join the list on the same page, each with its reason and, where it has one, a corrected version to apply. Nothing in your translation changes until you choose.
