Quality checks

Lexora checks each segment for the slips a client notices: numbers, tags, terms, spacing, punctuation and length. Each issue opens with its segment, so you fix it where it is.

Checks as you work

A segment is checked when you confirm it or move on. Issues are underlined in the text and listed under Checks in the panel beside it. The checks know how the target language writes: its quotation marks, number formats, spaces before punctuation, and words with long endings.

When a fix is certain, such as a changed number or a double space, the check offers Apply fix.

The quality assurance page

Choose Run QA in the editor, or Quality assurance in the sidebar. You see every open check in the project, errors first.

  1. Open an issueThe segment opens beside the list, with the issue marked.
  2. Fix itChange the translation, or use Apply fix.
  3. Move onConfirm and next confirms the segment and opens the next issue.

The tabs at the top switch between this project and all projects. Export report saves the open issues as a report to read, print or send: one HTML file with a summary, the checks that found something and every issue with the problem marked, which opens in any browser. Checks you accepted are in it too, marked as ignored with your reason. Export CSV saves the same list as a table.

When the translation is right

Some warnings are fine, such as an approved brand spelling. Choose Accept with a reason and write why. An accepted check comes back if the text changes. Errors in tags, placeholders and empty translations can’t be accepted, because they would break the file.

Your own checks

On the quality assurance page, Your own checks holds words a translation must not use, or must use when the source has something. Add a check, choose whether it is Must fix or a Warning, and limit it to a client or a language if you like. Patterns can be regular expressions.

AI review

Automatic checks don’t read for meaning. In projects where you allow AI, AI review on the same page looks for meaning errors, omissions, terms and tone. See AI review.

Reviewing someone else’s work

Turn on Review mode above the segments. Ctrl+Enter then marks a segment reviewed, and you can log errors with a category and severity for a review score.
